The winner of the 2003 Illawarra Tourism Award for events/festivals is now in its 18th year.This annual festival weekend provides a fabulous program of activities and entertainment for everyone. A genuine community celebration of visual and performing arts, the festival is a completely donated event, organised by the Austinmer-Thirroul Lions Club, supported by our major sponsor Horizon Credit Union and supportive local and regional businesses and planned and presented entirely by an enthusiastic group of volunteers. The festival actively involves community organisations and educational institutions, sporting groups, performing and visual art studios, artists, scouts, surf lifesavers and the general public. All contribute their time and talents without charge to produce a wonderful community celebration of visual and performing arts in a fabulous, festive atmosphere.

The Thirroul Seaside & Arts Festival is a major fundraiser for the Austinmer-Thirroul Lions Club, with the proceeds going to many behind the scenes worthy causes they're involved in.The 2007 focus was on support for local Junior Lifesaving to encourage youngsters in sporting and lifesaving pursuits.Coledale Hospital refurbishment has been completed due to Lions Club support in 2004 and 2005.
